Hey, I’m Layne

Welcome to my website. This is where I share my work as a disabled advocate, writer, and digital accessibility educator. Since 2018, I’ve been advocating for disability rights through storytelling, lived experience, and inclusive digital communication.

Why accessibility matters?

Much of our world is designed around preferences. For disabled people, these preferences are often mistaken for accessibility, even though everyone has different needs and ways of engaging.

Accessibility becomes an issue when those needs and preferences aren’t met. This can show up at work, in community spaces, at home, or online. Often, it comes down to gaps in information, communication, and awareness.

Digital accessibility plays a significant role in this. As the digital world continues to grow, disabled people are still being left behind.

With ongoing learning and a willingness to try, reflect, and improve, we can make our online spaces, products, and services more inclusive and accessible for everyone.
